Volunteer with us
Edinburgh Smile is designed to increase awareness of oral health among ME (minority ethnic) communities by
bringing the communities in and deliver oral and wider health improvement messages in an accessible manner. Volunteers will be involved in the development and coordination of activities to raise awareness to prevent deterioration of oral health. Due to COVID 19, all volunteers are expected to use online techniques to deliver the service until further notice.
We would welcome anyone with a background on oral health to help in the project. However, you do not need to be a specialized person to support us in improving oral health among minority ethnic communities. Enthusiastic persons who can assist in the timely implementation of oral health campaigns /awareness-raising activities are suitable for this volunteering role. The core responsibilities will include assisting LINKnet staff to develop and organize activities, maintain close liaison with community groups and stakeholders, and devise communication channels through which information on oral health can be shared with minority ethnic communities.
Upon recruitment, volunteers will be given (remotely until further notice due to COVID- 19 coronavirus outbreak) an induction followed by a full training. Throughout the voluntary period, continuous skills training will be provided. In-service support and supervision will be provided by LINKnet staff.
